Friday, October 17 – 1958
Billy Liddell, Liverpool’s tough bustling Scottish international forward, has been dropped for the first time in twenty years with the club. Tomorrow against Fulham he is replaced at centre-forward by Louis Bimpson. (Daily Mirror, 17-10-1958)
