West Bromwich Albion have paid Barnsley £400 for Joe Brooks. This, however, is not the highest price paid for a Barnsley player, as has been stated, for the transfer of Alf West cost Liverpool £500. Owing to a shooting accident and subsequent illness this fine back has been of little service to the Liverpool club, and has proved an unfortunate investment through no fault of his own.
